The transition from Tallahassee to Sarasota has been very demanding, even despite many privileges. The last six months has been lonely, but new deep friendships have started to develop. I couldnt have made it through without them. Sarasota is about the size of Tallahassee, but dominated by incredible wealth, bourgeois careerism and suburban fear. Despite all that, Ive linked up with the other soldiers in the war, as dead prez says. Now that I know the lay of the land, its time to focus on discipline, clear goals and self care. St. Pete or Tampa may be in my future, but for a while at least I want to offer my being, one of loving awareness and militancy, to this strange place.
