The trial of Ezra Levant brings to the fore a lot of issues: the integrity of Canadas justice system, the bully-boy tactics of so-called Human Rights Tribunals, and most importantly, the Islamic tradition of taqqiyah. What is Taqqiyah? The word al-Taqiyya literally means: Concealing or disguising ones beliefs, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions, and/or strategies at a time of eminent danger, whether now or later in time, to save oneself from physical and/or mental injury. A one-word translation would be Dissimulation. [1] But it may be clearer to call it lying. Taqiyyah is uttering with the tongue what one does not believe in the heart.
