The tribute to Ayrton Senna on the BBC, which was part of the weekends Grand Prix television, was almost too painful to watch. On that weekend, 20 years ago this month, one driver was injured, and two died, including the now legendary Senna. He was really nervous about that weekend, worried about safety issues, and in his car they found the Austrian flag - he intended to wave it as he crossed the finish line, in honour of Roland Ratzenberger who had been killed the day before....but he never made it. No - one has died in an F1 race meeting since that day, and so the deaths werent in vain.......but awful to watch the footage, knowing that that was the last time Senna would be seen alive. And sad for Ratzenberger, as his death was overshadowed by Sennas. Which is not what Ayrton would have wanted.
