The tripartite agreement between the Philippines Biodiversity Conservation Foundation, Inc. (PBCFI), the Negros Forest and Ecological Foundation, Inc. and the Negros Occidental Provincial Government for the Negros 1st Biodiversity Conservation and Education Center includes provisions on the free use of land owned by the province; construction, development and maintenance of facilities; and allocation of regular budget and personnel, among others. It covers a 25-year period and renewable subject to mutual agreements of all parties. I guess, this is the first in the Philippines. The center will provide facilities for captive breeding of highly threatened endemic species and biodiversity information, education and research.
