The truck with the New Comics charged down High street, smaller - TopicsExpress

The truck with the New Comics charged down High street, smaller vehicles scrambling to get out of its path. Some were successful, the ones who weren’t found themselves suddenly airborne. The koala stood in the middle of the intersection of High and Walnut, his lightsaber ignited, held in both paws, facing the oncoming hurtling engine of destruction. His face held quiet determination. Grubby Helper John stood off to the side (on the sidwwalk, actually), peering up the street, waiting to see what happened with the truck. Filthy Assistant Charlie checked his firing line on his belt-fed .50 machine gun, being wary of innocents caught in the coming fracas. KCB Gary stood atop the roof of a parked car, planning the right time to hurl the expired plastic credit card, and shear off the left-front tire of the truck (forcing it into a skid that would have it arc into the intersection, and hopefully bury its front against a lightpole). He just hoped Charlie wouldn’t open up early… bullets going by tended to make him flinch. Filthy Assistant Thomas had a big sword. Bigger than he should be able to lift, truth be told. Its blade was twice as wide as his body, and almost as tall (if you didn’t include the tiny tooth-pick-like handle on it). Thom thought it was awesome. He really wanted to hit something with it. New Filthy Assistant Ella was just confused. Why was this even happening again? Then it happened. Nobody knew where the music came from. It was just… there. The truck heard it over the roar of its engine and the crushing sounds of the smaller wheeled things as they were ground up under it’s wheels. The koala heard it over the hum of his lightsaber. Gary cocked his head and listened, a speculative expression on his face. Charlie muttered “Wha?...” as he sat up straighter from behind his tripod mounted gun. Thom still just wanted to hit something with his huge sword. And then everyone (the truck with its horn as it coasted to a stop) joined in at the chorus… “….CALL ME AL!”
