The truth of this load shedding is that government has no money to purchase the crude oil to power the plants. I am informed that apart from the Asogli power plant which uses gas to generate electricity all other power plants in this country uses crude oil. Government for once should stop the political propaganda and tell the citizens the truth. Prez. Mahama sending of government officials to Nigerias petroleum minister is not the case because Ghana as a country has no contract with the government of Nigeria but rather the companies that we (GOG) signed the contract with to provide us with gas at a fee through the West African Gas Pipeline project such as Shell etc. from Benin through Togo and to Ghana. For the record this contact has been signed in 1995 by Former Prez. Flt Jerry John Rawlings and in 2006 by Former Prez. John Agyekum Kufuor. If as a nation the right quantities is not supply to power our plants, is it not bleach of contract as common law says? I think in my candid opinion this official duty is unnecessary and also causing financial loss to the state. The attorney general and minister for justice should write to the companies indicating to the them where they have bleached the contract between them and Ghana and the implications because again common sense law says that he who bleached the agreement faces the penalties.
