(Comments by zezo) ok, first i have to say first rule of professional journalist interview, you should interview an unbiased guest to get a clear idea of whats going on in that country not an anti-saudi regime guest. now having that said, this country has different values not everyone that doesnt follow western values is bad take India, and some other Asian countries as an example. however, this king provided to his people enormous development, and sent close to quarter of a million people abroad in free scholarship to educate the population, does that sound like an anti-progressive king. and let me remind you that this kingdom has a literacy rate of around 5% during its unification about 64 years ago, yes thats right barely a baby kingdom compare to other European countries, and now they have the highest Phd holders per capita in the middleast(go research their ministry of higher education or CIA-factbook if you want an unbiased source). as of flogging or stoning or whatever barbaric punishment you may think of it, just remember you are looking at it from a biased western view point, and for whatever its worth it doesnt happen as much as the media inflame it, remember its a sensitive part of the world because of the oil reserve and whatever news comes from there, its very valuable and they will make a big deal out of it even if there worse things that happen in western society or any where else in the world it doesnt get the same amount of attention. again this country is very young and they started from scratch merely a dessert with people used to die because of hunger and thirst, not like other Mideastern countries like turkey that built its economy on top of what the ottoman empire has achieved so far, or Israel that attracted many well educated Jewish from Europe and Russia with so much experience to build Israel. the Saudis clearly are accepting the regime and they are very loyal to it otherwise you would have this regime toppled easily during the Arab spring, remember out of loyalty not fear of the police because of we think about it that way the Egyptian and Syrian police are astronomically worse with the population than the Saudis. the only riots in saudi arabia is the shiate in the eastern province, and its not because there are no jobs but because of political equality and not being well represented in the government. but the majority of Saudis are thinking this way(why would i protest if the government is providing everything for me with taking little freedom in being presented in the government and instead giving me back a better economic and social prosperity than most places in the world even western countries. another fact 70% of college students in the country are female hows that for equality.
