The two-state solution: that Israel should live happily side-by-side with an independent Palestinian Arab state - might have been possible in 1967 or before, but its not any more. Israel have gone out of their way to destroy the infrastructure and the territorial integrity for the West Bank and Gaza. The Palestinian Authority in the WB is now as much a sham as the black homeland governments in apartheid South Africa. The one state solution - that the State of Israel give full citizenship rights to all inhabitants of the West Bank and Gaza, and to descendents of refugees who fled in 1948, and then they sit down and write a new secular, democratic and non-racist constitution - is now the only way to prevent another few decades of terrible, terrible war; the slide of Israel into an outright fascist state; and another generation of desperate Palestinians turning to terrorism and takfiri jihad.
