The ultimate love letter... The year is 1946. Eric is a gunner serving overseas in the army, he writes a love letter to a young woman - Hilda, back home who he one day dreams of marrying. Fast forward to 2014 and staff at an Adelaide op shop discover the note hidden inside a handbag. They then enlist our help to track the subject of the letter down. What we uncovered is truly remarkable… Eric and Hilda DID get married… in England, exactly one year after he penned that letter. They enjoyed 66 years of marriage and raised four kids together, until Eric passed away last January - aged 90. We found Hilda and reunited her with the letter - “I couldnt have got a better man.
