The ultra-leftist Syriza party of Greece just became the first anti-capitalist party in European history to win a national election. The Syriza party promises to wipe out the debt imposed by bankers and reverse cuts to social services that have caused widespread misery. Since this socialist of sorts party was democratically elected it can serve as a model as to whether or not such socialist leaning policies are good for a country. If the Syriza party achieves political success do you think other countries will follow suit and become more democratically socialist?
