The unilateral truce/pact I made with Minnesota cold has worn thin over the decades since 7th grade. I dont like the way the deep cold permeates my bones, chasing vestiges of warmth and summer memories to the deeper parts of heart & soul; and it seems to grow worse every year... However, a moment outside on a night like this: the clear moonlight on the pristine wintry landscape, the muffling sound of snow-cushioned silence, the starlight that shines farther yet into my soul..., there is reverent and wondrous beauty on a night like this, worth a bit of mindfulness and wondrous humility
