The unique video yesterday was of damage to an SUV when lighting went through the windshield and essentially melted down the interior. There is always a bit of unknown about lightning and its path. They have all sorts of lightning protection devices around the launch pads at Kennedy Space Center, but still sometimes the lightning goes around them and hits the pad. In the same sense, once in a while it will go through poorly conducive glass instead of hopping to some more conductive material nearby. Its extremely unlikely that anybody would encounter something like this, but not impossible - as this shows us. Its also why we say to stay away from windows in your home during lightning.
