The universal energy is eternal (all that exists). It organizes from infinitely small scale to astronomical scales. Photon (E-M) energy increases to threshold gammaray energy, then splits into positrons and negatrons (electrons) which organize into atoms, molecules and all larger systems. The background red shift is NOT from expansion of the universe, but rather from the photons loss of energy through numerous processes as they travel across space. T. Long
