The universal sports greeting? It has to be "Roll Tide!" I live in suburban Chicago, go out for walks almost every day on a nature trail, and almost always wear Crimson Tide championship shirts. (I have a drawer full of them and want new models for this year!) Anyway, today I had two different bikers pass me on the Great Western Trail and yell, "Roll Tide!" Made me smile and then respond, "Roll Tide, Roll." It just works everywhere you meet the Crimson Tide faithful, even in Notre Dame and Big Ten country. The season opens in four weeks, minus one day and this year I get to see the Tide play in person twice.
