The university will host “Disability and the American Story” at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow (Oct. 2) in Old Main Chapel. The free program is open to the public. Dr. Kim E. Nielsen, professor of disability studies at the University of Toledo and prize-winning historian, will discuss where and how do people with disabilities fit into U.S. history. Her talk will retell U.S. history through the daily lives of people with disabilities, and illustrate how experiences and concepts of disability have shaped U.S. history, U.S. ideals and the lives of all within U.S. borders.
