The unknown woman circa 1981 to 1982 My first experience as a full time pastor was in a circuit of four churches around Rocky Fork Lake near Hillsboro, Ohio. I preached at three of these churches every morning. Early one Sunday morning as I was starting the service a woman walked in and sat down near the front of the church. I had never seen her before. When you never have more than twenty people in the church and seldom more than twelve, you instantly recognize someone new. The moment this woman walked in the door, darkness came on my spirit. I did not know what this darkness was, but I was fairly certain it was coming from this woman. As I stepped to the lectern to start the first song, a thought came into my mind that this woman was either a witch or some very dark spirit. There was no way I would know this information except for God telling me. I never had these kinds of thoughts about anyone in my churches prior to this time. Immediately after the song I led the congregation in opening prayer. While praying I asked God to cover me and the congregation with the blood of Jesus Christ. The next time I looked where the woman was seated she was gone. I do not know if she walked out or just disappeared. I just know she was gone. She never came back.
