The upcoming concert at the Old Stone School is directed by Neil Weston. He has graciously donated his time and incredible talent for all of the classical concerts held at the historic building this year and we hope you will join us in thanking him this Sunday. Here is more about Mr. Weston: Neil Weston is a graduate of the University of London and the Royal Academy of Music, and a recipient of advanced performance diplomas from the Royal College of Music and the Royal College of Organists. He was appointed to his first cathedral organist position in England at the age of 17. In this role he played regularly on BBC Radio and Television, as well as giving solo recitals throughout the United Kingdom and in Europe. He emigrated to the United States in 2000 and has performed in several of the nations most prestigious venues, including the Kennedy Center Concert Hall, Washington National Cathedral, and the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. He has performed regularly with the DC areas most highly regarded professional musical ensembles including the United States Army Band and the Washington Bach Consort. A past Prize winner of the American Guild of Organists National Competition in Organ Improvisation, he was presented by the AGO in concert as an improviser at the National Cathedral on three occasions. His solo and ensemble recordings number over a dozen commercial offerings on both sides of the Atlantic. His performance style has been described by Musicweb as exuding confidence, clarity, and precision; the American Record Guide has complimented his admirable playing, and The Organ Magazine has praised his superb performances. Tickets are $20, $15 for seniors, $10 for students, and kids 12 and under are free. Dinner catered by Its a Peace of Cake is $10 (cash only) and wine will be sold by the glass from Breaux Vineyards.
