The use of modern infra-red technology has revealed a mystery behind Picasso’s painting, “The Blue Room.” Conservators at the Phillips Collection in Washington have discovered a portrait beneath the “The Blue Room.” While they first suspected in 1954 that a second painting lay beneath, it was not until 2008 that they discovered the image. There is an ongoing investigation to identify the man in the painting, but in the meantime, “The Blue Room” is scheduled for a tour of South Korea in 2015 and an exhibition in 2017.
