The very reason I still write checks when I go to stores. Then as soon as I get home I check my acount for any problems. I know they dont like it, but I write my own info on the checks too. This way I can see the amount I write & what they input at the register because it is on the back of check they return with my reciept. Yes, I now take all my receipts just becaus you cantr be sure of anything these days. For places that dont take checksnymore I try to carry cash.
