The urology team is going to lead the show off today making sure that the urethra and bladder arent compromised from a bone chip caused by the pelvic fracture. Thatll actually be the quickest and simplest. Next up are orthopedic surgeons led by Conor Kleweno, one of the assistant professors and leaders of the ortho and sports medicine team. Shes going to get pins and screws inserted to realign her pelvis. Hopefully thatll do the job, if not, itll take quite a bit longer and will require additional screws and a plate for the front side of the pelvis. Well see!! If the vascular team has time (might not due to this surgery going later than first anticipated) they will check out her right leg to see if there is any dead muscle in the calf and lower leg. Im extremely optimistic that there is none, but will not know for sure until they get back in there. If they cant get in there today, most likely tomorrow. The right knee will be addressed in a couple/few days.
