The very thing that should be our greatest strength as a nation is still our greatest weakness. We lead the world in military power, technical advances, scientific breakthroughs, and willful stupidity. God gave us diversity in skin color for environmental protection and beauty and we use it for tribalism. Its a sobering proposition to consider that I will one day stand before the One who is high and lifted up, the One whose train fills the temple with eyes like flames of fire, the One whose face is like the sun in its strength from whose face the Heavens and Earth flee. How can I stand there and explain to him that I spent my life hating something that he loves. How would I explain that I loved this world and its goals, its ways, and purposes so much that I ignored his greatest law, to love my neighbor as I do myself.
