The villagers became furious at this, and they decided to set alight to Hazrat Ibrahim as a means to execute him. Soon a big heap of firewood was set aflame, and HazratIbrahim was thrown into it. Lo and behold! The fire became cool by the command of Allah and Hazrat Ibrahim was saved from death – for Almighty Allah protects the Truth and those who live by it. “They said, "Burn him and help your Gods, if you want to." We said, "O fire, become cool and peaceful upon Ibrahim." And they wished to cause him harm, so We made them the greatest of losers.” [Surah Ambiya, verse 68-70]
