The violence between Israel and Gaza... Israel uses abhorrently disproportionate military responses to provocations from Hamas. They carry out airstikes within the densely populated Gaza strip that inevitably lead to civilian casualties. Their settlement policies (like Israeli settlers erecting tents on Palestinian homes at night knowing they will be protected by the IDF which leads to Palestinian evictions and, thus, settlement expansion in clear violation of international law) lead to discontent throughout Palestine and the region. Hamas knows full well what Israeli response will be. They provoke Israel openly in order to get a reaction. This typically occurs whem Hamas grip on power in Gaza is slipping or their funding is running low. The resulting slaughter carried out by the vastly superior Israeli military (funded with your tax dollars) prompts wealthy regional donors to flood their coffers with new donations thus reinforcing their dominance within Gaza. The people of Gaza pay the price. They are humam shields and pawns.
