The vote for Speaker this week reminds me of the 1st Battle of the American Revolution - The Battle of Lexington Green. The midnight ride of Paul Revere was a precursor to this battle. 77 brave patriots were vastly outnumbered by the 240 strong British Redcoat Army. These brave patriots did not wait for a viable alternative to King George. They did not wait until they had a good chance at defeating the British. They realized the costs of their sacrifice but they did not back down. They struck a blow against tyranny and for Liberty. They were defeated but news of this battle caused patriots in Concord and in other cities to arm themselves against the tyranny of King George to fight for liberty. The British moved to Concord and found themselves defeated at the hands of armed patriots. This weeks election for Speaker shows that we have 25 brave patriots prepared to sacrifice to fight against tyranny and for the Constitution. Unfortunately, not one is from Georgia. King George Boehner-with the approval of Georgias Congressmen- are seeking to hang these 25 patriots on the gallows. Congressmen that voted for Boehner are facing the ire of their constituents fed up with Boehner and House Leadership. They are using pathetic excuses to explain their betrayal of conservatives. They claim the vote that counted took place in November and no one ran against Boehner. Boehner made promises in the GOP Caucus meeting in November and that is why no one rose up to oppose him in that meeting. Boehner turned around and blatantly broke those promises with the awful Cromnibus Bill in December. They remind me of Tories criticizing our founding fathers for fighting against the tyranny of King George. Have you heard one Republican Georgia Congressman criticizing Boehner for those broken promises and for the Cromnibus? The REAL vote that counted took place this week. It is unfortunate that Georgias Congressmen believe not airing dirty laundry in public and committee assignments are more important than the welfare of our country and the wishes of their constituents. It would have been a big win for conservatives had the voting gone to a second round. Boehner and leadership would have been forced to make major concessions and rule changes to be re-elected or the voting would have continued round after round. Congressmen Loudermilk and Hice campaigned as warriors vowing to vote against Boehner and pushing for new House Leadership. They turned into lambs when threatened with the loss of their preferred committee assignments. Committee assignments are prestigious and with them come more attention from lobbyists, increased campaign donations and more power.. They were both only sworn in for a few hours when they started breaking their campaign pledges. They must have drank five hour shots of the rancid Potomac Kool-aid... When Boehner turns to Democrats to pass amnesty bills, continue to fund Obamas executive amnesty or claims ObamaCare cant be repealed, the blame rests squarely on the shoulders of the Congressmen that voted for Boehner..
