The vulture crisis has finally hit the New York Times. When REST - TopicsExpress

The vulture crisis has finally hit the New York Times. When REST started announcing that vultures were in a massive population decline a year ago, some considered us heroic pioneers & others just crazy idiots. I truly wish we had been the second. At least now the world is taking notice & Namibia is a leading player. Our Ministry of Environment & Tourism believed in REST from the beginning & loaned us the camera traps that have been documenting every vulture that lands at our feeding site, the POWAG committee, lead by Mark Paxton, is close to hosting a stakeholders conference on poisons & donors are staring to take interest. We have a long way to go, but at least the process has started. This week Vicky Hausladen nominated us for the ice bucket challenge & miko, Charlie & Katiti joined us voluntarily from the sidelines. This group at REST is amazing. Everyone is so passionate & dedicated to our work & as you can see, we also have a lot of fun together. I really Love them all!
