The war zone God doesn’t want us to live in or look back at those desolate places in our lives. We all have those desolate places, rather it be a bad childhood, wrong choices that took us down some hard paths, a loss of a loved one or allowing the wrong people in our lives for a season. Whatever it may be, we are all guilty of visiting those places in our minds, and by doing so, it overshadows our thoughts and souls with pain that causes us to be blinded. There are different avenues that can cause you to visit those desolate places. It can be brought on by pride, anger, hurt, loneliness and rejection… How many of you have ever gotten upset over something or someone, and then the next thing you knew, is that you ended up in a desolate place filled with many rooms of negative thoughts that were caused by bad experiences from your past? des•o•late Adjective: desolate /ˈdesələt/ (Of a place) deserted of people and in a state of bleak and dismal emptiness. synonyms: bleak, stark, bare, dismal, grim; wild, inhospitable; deserted, uninhabited, godforsaken, abandoned, unpeopled, untenanted, empty, barren; unfrequented, unvisited, isolated, remote Isaiah 43:18-19 (KJV) Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. ~ 1 Peter 5:7 Jesus is no stranger to our pain and struggles. Jesus, the man, would of rather for the cup of death to be passed from him. But Jesus, the son of God, knew that it would take His death and resurrection on the cross to save the world. Through His death and resurrection, He would be able to send us another Comforter to help us with our daily walk with him. And yes, even if we find ourselves looking away from grace and falling into a desolate place, God is there! Cry out to Jesus even in those darkest hours! Romans 8:35, 37-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. GOD LOVES YOU!
