The ward choir will be singing this song in Sacrament Meeting on December 14th. The theme for the meeting is Teaching Children the True Meaning of Christmas. I plan to invite several primary children to sing the second verse. If you have been hiding your talent under a bushel, now is the time to let your light shine!! There are sections of this song that split into 8 parts. In order to pull this off, I will need at least 10 sopranos, 10 altos, 10 tenors, and 10 basses. With the size of our ward, the amount of musical talent we have (that hasnt come forward yet), this should not be difficult to make happen. FYI, there is a new section in the music handbook that says if you sing in school choir, Stake Choir, youth choir, have any music training (including, but not limited to piano lessons, high school choir, rock band, or a degree in any musical field), you should lend your talents and experience to your ward choir. Okay, not really, but it should! *smile We will be accompanied by the organ and I plan to perform this from memory, so its not one of those times when you can just sight read it. Thanks for considering your time and abilities and choosing to join with us. Choir practice is held at my house every Sunday from 10-11am.
