The way I see it, the purpose of the Keystone Pipeline vote was an attempt to maintain the illusion that the corporate-owned parties really are different and so we just need to make enough phone calls and keep voting for our side and eventually things will somehow improve. Meanwhile, once the Rs get in there will be a new vote in January which is guaranteed to pass and by then, the Rs will be holding the entire government hostage and the only way they will allow .gov to function at all is for Obama to sign off on the Keystone Pipeline. Obama had no choice! the D-loving environmental groups will cry -- it was the evil Rs who made him do it. Obama and the Ds were powerless! If only more people had voted D in the Nov 13 elections . . . So whats the plan? To cry powerless! in January and then get herded back into the voting booth in November to once again vote D? The most rational thing to do is to start leaving that party now and register with a non-corporate party so you have something to bargain with against the Rs -- apparently thats what Obama cares about, playing the game. - Vic Ashley
