The way Museweri will deal with Mbabazi will reshape his persona - TopicsExpress

The way Museweri will deal with Mbabazi will reshape his persona as someone impossible to remove from the Presidency. Amama Mbabazi will keep on retreating, conceding until he relinguishes his presidential ambitions. At this moment, there is nothing to expect from JPAM, instead, he will seek for mercy and forgiveness from the President. Afterall, we learnt from KAtegaya that Banyankore actually turn in their sleep!!! A story is recited when Boniface Byanyima was once advising Besigye and his daughter, Winnie, about the formers presidential ambitions. Mzee Byanyima told Bes that this Timbaruka Yowasi will not allow you to defeat him. I see the pain, read the frustration and dissappointment in some Ugandans. Is the Oppositions cause engineered solely to remove President Museweri from power or to advance social transformation of Uganda beyond its current state? Here we need a deeper contemplation. President Museveni, like Mobutu, Mugabe, Dos Santos have all presided over their Countries relentlessly, resisting change from within and without. The people of Uganda will come to realize one thing --- that unless President Museveni dies, no one else will lead Uganda. Uganda has grown with Museweri and Museweri has grown with Uganda. The President sees no essense of life outside statehouse or Kisozi farm, or his luxurious pads all over the country. Mobuto was once asked about his retirement plan and he quipped -- I do not see how I can sustain my lifestyle outside the public purse. I intend not to retire (something like that). When Tinyefuza eloped from his murderous regime, he sought refuge in a civilized country. Every kind of opposition figure jumped to consort with Tinyefuza. Those who rebuked the former Gen were also rebuked by the pro Tinyefuza group. Their false expectation was that any effort placed at removing Mu7 is worthwhile and should be explored. Tinyefuze offered them nothing but saliva. They said the same thing when Col Besigye came out, then Muntu, then Ruzindana then Kategaya etc. Before that, there was also Bidandi Ssali. Now Amama is the latest arrivee in the Delay Lounge. My point here is that the stress of lifelong Presidency has taken its toll on those who are contending for state power. The strength of President Museweri lies in his ability to scatter opposition groups and to not allow them organize anywhere in East Africa. He knows from the anti-Amin groups not to allow opposition organizing anywhere near home. Even abroad, as long as there are Ugandans organized or organizing, he hijacks the event with money and kavuyo....Unless the opposition redefines itself and begins to defy some of the draconian laws like POMA and the Police, there will be no stride. I argue and I may be wrong, the ballot alone will not wash off the stains of blood from the NRM as the President said. Not to encourage self deception, I have faith that Besigye still has the tenacity to cause tremors, however little, it exposes the ogre. At the end of it all, opposition people start to appear disorganized, disenchanted and seemingly, without a common agenda upon which to mobilize Ugandans. And yet there are true Patriots out there looking for genuine opportunity for change.... but we must organize!!!!
