The way one perceives another person determines the way you treat - TopicsExpress

The way one perceives another person determines the way you treat them. The example of someone working in an office and their manager/boss would be perceived in a certain way and the cleaner would be perceived in a certain way, hence the way one perceives someone determines how you treat them. Both the cleaner and manager are human and should be treated the same, both should be acknowledged and greet them. The Islamic position is that you start of by recognising people as a human being/individual. We need to take this concept into our family (how we perceive our wife will determine how we treat them) See people as those with feelings and emotions and what expects from others they expect the same things from you. In a Husband/Wife relationship if you expect a certain behaviour/attitude from your Wife you should assume she expects the same from you. We need to be mindful of this and not take them for granted. This applied to treatment of Parents, Children etc. There are rights for both the Husband and the Wife. In the family we should not focus on our rights (what others owe us) but we should focus on our duties towards them and focus on that and make that a priority.
