The way some of these people talk, they truly are villains. Posting this seems like its just giving them more fuel. But Id like my friends to see how my life could be changed if any of these people had power in our country. For example one of these people suggest that all gay people be rounded up on an island and then the island nuked..... This is just a reminder that we still have a long way to go. I am truly grateful for the rights and freedoms we have in Canada, they enable me to own my life without much fear. We all need to remember that many many other people who fall outside of societal norms of their country and dominant religious beliefs live in extreme fear for their lives. Oh and on a side note, the thats so gay comment that I hear nearly daily, should remind us that even Canadians arent fully enlightened yet. Most of the time its said without any real meaning. Just a catch phrase that most people blindly use because they dont understand the context or its power.
