The way to PROTEST is to VOTE FIRST. I have no respect for - TopicsExpress

The way to PROTEST is to VOTE FIRST. I have no respect for PROTESTERS who DONT VOTE, and we just had an election with the lowest turnout since world war II. After the Occupy Protests of 2010, there was also a low voter turnout that let Republicans in with historic majorities also. Not Productive, in fact, very counter-productive. Dont tell me democrats dont suit your fancy, it is not up to Democrats to please you, it is up to you to vote for better democrats - and to support the best choice in the general election, and that sure as hell is not letting republicans win elections. If you claim you cant tell the difference between democrats and republicans to me it shows nothing but your complete ignorance, and tells me that YOU ARE THE PROBLEM, not the solution. I have no respect for a movement that disrupts society like the violent police they claim to oppose. Illegal protests commit the same acts that the protests were supposed to be against. Legal, peaceable, educational, focused protests - starting with voter registration drives for the marchers - are the only type of protests that people respect. Gandhi’s protests were about people trying to do what they should have the right to do, not blocking traffic or violent anarchy. Gandhi used the principle of non violence that is protesting and demanding the rights without violating the peace and harmony..he spread the teachings of ahimsa ie, without killing or destroying anyone.... Lets see the protestors drive the speed limit, rather than block traffic. Lets see the protestors go on prayer vigils, rather than block Starbucks. Lets see the protestors ORGANIZE LEGALLY, not be a bunch of embarrassing anarchists. Lets see the protestors ORGANIZE TO VOTE, rather than sit home with self-righteous stupidity. The type of anarchist, disruptive and violent protests we have seen lately only hurt the cause, and should be abandoned if they cant be rehabilitated. If we cant get out the vote, we cant change the system anyway. Gandhi also did not HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE then... ...WE DO. USE THE VOTE, BE CIVILIZED, BE EDUCATIONAL, DONT BE AN EMBARRASMENT TO THE CAUSE BY BEING AS BAD AS THE PROBLEM BEING PROTESTED.
