The way to solve the problem of students not doing homework is not to give more homework, but reduce compulsory homework drastically and emphasize the importance of classwork. They expect to work in class. If classwork is satisfying, it will become an important part of their quality worlds…. When we attempt to do what does not work, we are doing now with compulsory homework; both teachers and students lose respect for the system. Coercion is increased and the opportunity is lost.
