The week started on a Ugly note . Brutal yet A Beautiful Ugly was the oxymoron , that I came up with while leaving the theater . And then the weekdays ended high over a peak watching PK The Film. A country where persistent Polio Vaccination ad campaigns by Amitabh Bacchan can reduce Poliomyelitis , Bollywood industry and faces of bollywood can indeed influence the mass , their movements !!! Yes Bollywood has the power to condition our mindset. Munni , Sheila , Jalebi often helps to reinforce the notion of identifying(reducing) women as objects of pleasure!! The acts of heroes like Salman trying to lift the skirt of jacqueline (example) walking on street promoted as heroic acts of stalking and flirting with the some random , beautiful , bomb (entity reduced to object) which essentially implants the notion - Attributes of Real (:P) Man deep into the minds of most of us who voraciously eat , sleep , pray Bollywood !! So as much as the industry , the faces of Bollywood play a very pivotal role in conditioning. PK was a much needed blow and the timing couldnt have been better. I respect Aamir Khan & RajKumar Hirani (Raju) for their work !! Persistent campaigns through movies , theaters ,songs , paintings , radio of asking questions instead of clouding your thoughts with beliefs founded on irrational premise , is definitely need of the hour. It depends entirely on the Khans , Kapoors, (and you name it) as to how they would like to view their contributions in cinemas and the ethics maneuvering their actions. !!! :)
