The weekend has gone but this week hasnt been short of news and gossip surrounding the Blues. Sylvain Distin Rumours have this week progressed involving Distin and the manager Roberto Martinez. The word going around is that Sylvain has not been pleased with Robertos recent selections, to the point he made his feelings know. It is now thought Distin has been suspended from training for the past few days and the ban is reported to be 10 days long. Now, although the word on Distin at the moment is only rumours and has yet to be neither confirmed or denied by the club or player, my opinion is that Distin needs to be slightly smart with his decision making if the stories are to be believed. Whilst he may be frustrated by his lack of game time, he has to remember his age, he is 36 years old and entering the final stages of his career. He must also remember that his position is now hugely under threat by the outstanding performances of John Stones. Is Distins time up at Everton? John Stones After all the early season defensive dilemmas, it would appear that we now have another. John Stones look set to be sidelined with an ankle ligament injury that could see him miss out for up to 6 weeks. The 20-year-old was in superb form of late and had caused some selection difficulties for Martinez at the back. Stones was withdrawn from the England squad for their European championship qualifiers straight after his injury on Sunday afternoon. Scans have been sent off to specialists and the results should return late this week. Now the next dilemma involves Distin. Do you bring back a player that has been banned internally by the club, or do you look drop Gareth Barry back or start Alcaraz. Who is the more obvious option? Park protesters moan After we thought we had found a new patch of land within our busy city to build our new stadium, it would appear it isnt going to run so smoothly.. Walton park this week seen around 20 or so local residents protest against our supposed stadium plans. They believe that to build on parkland would harm the environment and cause massive traffic issues in the area. The main part of the plan has been approved by Liverpool City council and it is thought that directors at the club are not concerned by the protests. International Blues It would be easier and quicker to say which members of the Everton squad arent involved in international fixtures in the coming weeks. John Stones, Ross Barkley, Kevin Mirallas, Bryan Oviedo, James McCarthy and Seamus Coleman are all sidelined. McCarthy and Coleman are fatigued and the players want to refrain from injuring any wary muscles. Meanwhile Phil Jagielka, Tim Howard, Leighton Baines, Darron Gibson, Romelu Lukaku, Steven Naismith will all be playing up to two games coming during the coming fortnight. Injury news As mentioned John Stones will be out of action for certainly the next few weeks. Evertons injury list just seems to keep growing at the minute with Ross Barkley, Kevin Mirallas and Seamus Coleman all on the list, along with James McCarthy and Bryan Oviedo. As I briefly pointed out I believe James McCarthy will be taking a weeks rest before returning to training next week. Ive been informed he has a couple of muscular issues that could do with rest. Bryan Oviedo appears to only be a temporary addition to the list as he goes into hospital this week to have a screw removed from the leg that was broken last season. Hes expected to return after the international break. #st
