The weigh-ins for Saturday’s WSOF 17 card are in the books, and the main-event welterweights are on the mark for their fight. In the headliner, Jake Shields (30-7) takes on Brian Foster (22-6) in a matchup of UFC veterans. Shields was 170 pounds on the button for the fight, while Foster was 169.8. The co-main event, however, saw a late change that moved a preliminary-card fighter up to the main card. Brian Cobb (20-8) had to pull out of his fight against Johnny Nunez (5-0) after sustaining a knee injury on Thursday during a workout. Instead, Joe Condon (11-7) moves up to face Nunez. Nunez was 155.6 pounds, and on his second try, Concon was 156. He initially came in at 157.4, but was able to drop the additional weight. Condon’s original opponent on the prelims, Jimmy Spicuzza (5-2), is left without an opponent. But WSOF officials said he will be paid both his show and win money for the fight. WSOF 17 takes place at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. You can watch the prelims on MMAjunkie ahead of the main card on NBC Sports Network.
