The whole never say bossy to a girl debate.. Im skeptical. Nature is more powerful than social expectations. I think we should be careful to understand our childrens natures, behavioral pattern and style. It is my belief a big chunk of our behavioral styles are decided very early maybe before birth. If a girl is born with a dominant streak in her, it just isnt going to be shamed away by a word. It may temporarily get redirected, but she will naturally attract to roles that reward that behavior when given the chance. Now it seems to me a more effective plan is to take note in all boys and girls what their unique behavioral styles are and begin immediately to help them understand how to maximize the positives and minimize the negatives of their behaviors.
