The whole world is made in China now and smart phones and robotic arms are making labor obsolete. Couple that with finite resources and the fact that the USA has 100 million more mouths to feed than it did in the early 80s (7 billion people worldwide now) and you can see that a real problem exists for most working people in the world. You cant stop technology, you cant stop humans from reproducing, and you cant stop Asia from building their economies in *exactly* the same way we built ours 100 years ago. People like Russell Brand would like to hang all of this on political leaders, who in reality are spectators to a lot of this just like we are. The cynic in me feels that he is just another naive celebrity hijacking a cause for sheer notoriety, but even if I am wrong about the notoriety angle, I do know that he doesnt have the first idea about global economics in 2013, and why such a huge disparity *really* exists. Yes..deregulation and a corrupt banking industry are to blame for a lot of it, and I do think that a re-working of our political structure is way overdue..but Mr Brand needs to read up before I can even begin to take him seriously. Until then he is just another Bob Geldof..
