The wife and I traveled to Portland Maine this weekend for a short getaway and here are my dinner reviews: First off - we stayed at a B&B called the Chadwick, and it was very nice. Location didnt offer any great views (overlooked the medical center), but it was less than a mile from downtown and within walking distance to a lot of restaurants. The breakfasts were amazing there, and the rooms were very comfy! Might go back again in the fall after tourist season, as the rates double during the summer. First place we went to for dinner was a place called Bull Feeneys right in downtown Portland. Its an Irish Pub/Restaurant. I had the surf and turf, and my wife had a garden pizza. Both were good, but not great. Service I though was also lacking, as when we got there (no reservations) we were told that the kitchen was on hold and we could wait at the bar. We waited for about a half-hour/45 minutes until a table opened (not bad), however the bar-tender was not that friendly and gave a your not from around here vibe. Waitress was decent and friendly though, although the service as a bit slow. We spent over 2 hours there between the bar and dinner (no appetizers or dessert). Overall I would say this was a bout a 2.5-3 star place. OK, but not great. With the bar tab (two drinks for each of us us) - the bill was about $70. However, Saturday night was a 5 star meal - just amazing food. The place was https://facebook/DavidsOpusTen. I had the Lobster Ravioli and could have easily devoured a second plate of it - was very very good, and Im typically not a pasta person. My wife had a wonderful pork tenderloin that was cooked to perfection. It was the best meal we have had in years! Highly recommend! However, it was expensive. With two cocktails between us (that were good) plus the entrees and dessert (we had such a good meal, that we had to at least try some dessert!) - the bill was over $100, but it was worth it.
