The wild card for birds, the biggest risk of them all, is the high-carbon world humans have created through the burning of fossil fuels for energy. This might make for rather somber reading, but remember that knowledge is power, and it is only through knowing the facts that we will ever reverse this current course towards totally avoidable (and utterly unforgivable) avian extinction, and ensure that not only our children, but also our childrens children - and their children, will likewise be blessed with the same bounty of beautiful and magnificent birds... Let us all do our bit in this regard; we owe it to the birds that bring us so much additional joy, and which enrich our lives in so many, many, many ways... :)
