The wind and dust has been rather too much and too oersistent in SA for the last couple of weeks and days. Normally this can precede famine as these amounts of persistent dusty winds usually ; do the following: 1. Blow away seeds to very far away, agriculturally incultivatable, unvegetative and unreproductive areas of the land. 2 strip away rich top soil thats necessary for seed growth and development. 3. Dries up atmospheric humidity necessary for vegetation, etc. The prevalent climatic conditions demand that we put measures in place like; *Food banks, *Water conservation programmes, *Famine management strategies, etc. Famine can bring down even the strongest of economies of the world, and usually can also bring to the fore all kinds of unusual and previously unknown deseases for which cures do not exist yet. As a country we need to read the signs of time and begin to prepare for the probable rough times ahead. This is especially necessary so because our economy has not been performing particularly well recently. I humbly submit...
