The windows are a big part of any Tiny Texas Houses. We have to rebuild them and add parts at times, take off the old glazing and put new on. The weight ropes get replaced, the sides of the sashes are weatherstripped and the bottom has a silicone weather strip on the bottom ledge where it meets the sill too. We tend to seal the top sash shut and then the area on the back side of the weight space, use the back side to fill with insulation and leave the rest of the space open for the weight that goes to the bottom sash. In the end, our windows are more energy efficient based on the cost of creating them as well as the long life they have versus the short built in obsolescent lifespan of new building materials.
