The wise Captain speaking ~ Until then we will drive our cars, fly in our planes, and eat our steaks giving little thought to the consequences. In this we are all guilty but the tragedy is that we can do very little to address the issue if political leaders refuse to even acknowledge the issue. Our guilt is not in driving a car or what we eat although we do have the power to make individual decisions that would be more beneficial, like adopting a vegetarian or vegan diet or using public transportation of electric cars, both changes that diminish our contribution to carbon emissions although not completely eliminating it. The major problems of course are escalating human populations and escalating consumerism. But where we are really guilty is who we vote for, or who we allow to be in power. Real change in the conditions that contribute to global warming must come from governments fully addressing the sources of the problems and not denying them. ~
