The woman who took more than $220,000 in cash and cheques from Brown’s Chrysler while employed there has been sentenced to spend 90 days in jail. Nadine Colleen Murphy, 27, appeared in Westlock Provincial Court on Sept. 3 to receive her sentence — sentencing was originally scheduled for June 25, but Judge Karl Wilberg said at the time did not believe she fully understood the severity of her crimes. “I do understand the implications of my actions,” Murphy said last week, adding she’s seeking help to solve her problems. “This is not who I am.” Murphy pleaded guilty on March 5 to theft over $5,000 in relation to stealing $6,326 in cash and $226,920 in cheques from Brown’s Chrysler in Westlock. Of the money taken, only the $6,326 in cash remains outstanding. See more at westlocknews
