The wonderful story of japanese singer, Aragaki Tsutomu. Born blind because of an error of a nurse in childbirth, the boy was abandonned by his American father and Japanese mother to be raised by his grand-mother who died when he was a teenager. He later became a pastor and later he went to Tokyo to study Music in one of the universities.One day, a music teacher told him that no other Japanese had a voice like him. He was told that he had a latin voice, that his voice was a gift from his father. By the power of the teachers words, he was motivated to pursue his career which propelled him to great heights. I was delighted to be told of his story by my japanese friend Ayumi (from Okinawa) with whom I have so many interesting conversations after our sport sessions together at the YMCA.
