The word for today is extubate! He can at least try to talk now. It is pretty hard to understand what he wants but thank God he has mental faculties enough to try! He is typically not great at oxygen saturation and now that he is off of the paralytics and sedation his blood pressure has spiked as well. One step forward and two baby steps back. I think both issues are about to be resolved AND he has had ice, apple sauce and water and handled them without any trouble! Looks like he will get breakfast tomorrow! He is still trying to convince me he cannot pee without standing up but I am standing firm. Mostly because I cannot pick him up off of the floor! So far he has managed to stave off dialysis. Lets hope it stays that way! He has no idea yet what he has been through but asked me to take off whatever was on his chest... What he feels is from CPR and being shocked 8 times... There will be plenty of time thank heavens to talk about it later. I cannot express how much it means to all of us for your love and prayers and the fact you are so diligent in keeping them going! Love you all!
