The word for today is watchman. A watchman is defined as a person who has been employed to stand guard and to protect. We have to understand that we have been employed by God. To be employed means to be put to work or to give services. It means to give dedicated time to a purpose. God has employed us to be watchmen. We are to dedicate time to be intercessors for others. Praying for their needs and not just our own. An intercessor is one who stands in the gap. A gap is an opening or breach. It is a break in the line of defense. Understand you have been called to close the gap. You are called to look, listen, relay, pray and obey Gods word. SCRIPTURE MEDITATION Isaiah 21:6 For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth. Ezekiel 3:17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. Isaiah 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints 1 Timothy 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, [and] giving of thanks, be made for all men Colossians 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard [it], do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding PRAYER Father help us to understand with clarity what it means to be watchmen that intercede.
