The world and the people in it can sometimes lead us to believe - TopicsExpress

The world and the people in it can sometimes lead us to believe that we are lost and worthless and that life is meaningless, but there is a truth that can set us free. Evil is all around us and often it is dressed in what appears to be righteousness and while it is often impossible to identify it ourselves we can rest in knowing that we dont have to. Sometimes I think people believe that the good scriptures are reserved for those who fit a certain standard, for those whom they deem worthy. The scriptures can be bent and their behaviors justified according to their own perception and will because they are somehow superior. I believe however, in a God that leaves no one out. That his promises of mercy and goodness apply to all who believe in Him. We may be the only version of Christ that a person ever sees and while that is somewhat unnerving it is also such a gift. I am reminded as I think about my life, my mistakes, my successes, and relationships both good and bad that God uses all things for good and ALL people and situations can be used for good when they are surrendered to the will of God. Some people on this earth have challenges most of us will never face or comprehend and it is easier to pretend they arent there than it is to face their reality. It makes us uncomfortable and it is easy to forget they are people who are entitled to the same grace, love, and affection that we are. When you feel like judging, dont. When you feel like ignoring a need, dont. When you feel like abandoning God because you feel he has forgotten you, dont. Trust in the plan not only for yourself but for even the most unlikely of men. Give for the sake of giving, love the unlovable, and seek to never underestimate the capacity of God. I think this really says it all in a world where evil and death are constantly at our door. 23The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his names sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
