The world does not have an identity of itself. Its identity is ‘as perceived’ by the people living in this world. The children born in slums see this world as a place where there is hunger, misery and depravity all around. The children born in wealthy families perceive this world as a place full of comforts, luxuries and abundance all around. There are some children, who are forced into slavery at tender age. They see this world as a place full of challenges, hardship and difficulties all around. Therefore, when we find that there is someone, who has passionately worked for years, in making the lives of these children better, by removing them from this slavery and putting their lives on a streamlined track, his efforts need to be recognized, appreciated and emulated by everyone. We salute Kailash Satyarti for his untiring efforts in improving the lives of several thousand children over the last two decades. His endeavors have rightfully earned him the coveted Noble Peace Prize. He has made all Indians proud with his achievement. Jai ho…! We also congratulate Malala Yousafzai for her courageous and bold initiative of girl child education in Pakistan, risking her own life. (By the way, the character ‘Maliha’ in my second book Altered Destiny is inspired from Malala. :) )
