The world has lost a talented but tortured man today. Robin Williams was a man of ups and downs and extremes but when he was running true, he gave us masterpieces of comedy and drama. Oh Captain, My Captain, I salute your body of work! You made classical literature come alive for many. You reached out to the lost genius in us all. You called out neo-conservatives for the fools they are. You showed us the moving life story of a tremendous doctor. Your resume was replete with nuggets like these. I too am not a bit tamed, I too am untranslatable. I sound my barbaric yawlp over the roof-tops of the world... All the worlds a stage, And all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances, And one man in his time plays many parts I am actually choking up from this because Robin Williams impassioned role in Dead Poets Society was such a powerful movie for me. You asked what role shall we play upon the stage. You whispered to me Carpe diem. Sir, your role was not an easy one but you have exited the stage and shall be missed and mourned.
